Margaret Cashman
Margaret Cashman
Margaret is a joint founder of the Iyengar Yoga Centre (North Dublin) and has been practising yoga since the early 90s and has taught Iyengar Yoga since 1996. As a holder of an intermediate (level III) Iyengar teaching certificate she has undergone continuous training both in her own practice and as a teacher. The Iyengar method appeals because of its exacting concentration on correct alignment and extension. Development of her practice is on-going with Margaret and Gordon Austin, Christian Pisano and June Whittaker. Margaret has worked in both corporate and academic environments and knows the challenges of combining a regular yoga practice with the demands of modern living.
Martina Durnin
Martina Durnin
Martina is a joint founder of the Iyengar Yoga Centre (North Dublin) and hails from the Czech Republic. Martina had tried different kinds of yoga while travelling around Australia and Asia but it wasn't until she moved to London in 1998 that she found what she was looking for. On the way home from work one day she accidentally discovered the Iyengar yoga institute of south London. There through the charismatic personality of her yoga teacher Glenys Shephard she fell in love with yoga. Soon she found herself practicing every day either in the institute or at home. After moving to Ireland in 2000 she continued her practice with the most senior teachers available : Margaret Austin, Jeanne Maslen, Kevin Gardiner and Sharat Arora. Martina holds an introductory teaching certificate level II (since 2004) and after a short break for birth of her son is now preparing for her Intermediate Junior level I Certificate.
Teresa Lewis
Teresa Lewis
Teresa is originally from Wales and began practicing yoga when she moved to Dublin in 2001. She initially took up yoga classes as a means of keeping fit and in an attempt to lead a healthier lifestyle. She was inspired by the holistic school of thought that yoga offered in working towards a healthier body, mind and spirit. After attending various types of yoga classes, Teresa found that it was through the Iyengar method of yoga that she really developed her own practice. She found that the focus on correct alignment and precision in the postures encouraged her to take on a more disciplined approach to learning yoga. Teresa holds an Intermediate Junior Level I Teaching Certificate and works closely with Senior Iyengar teachers, Grainne Gilleece and Aisling Guirke. She is also a fully qualified Holistic Massage Therapist (ITEC).

While maintaining her own practice, Roisin regularly attends workshops with visiting and senior Irish Iyengar teachers.
